The story of a boy who lives in the New York City subway tunnels for 121 days. Closed Captioned

"Just worry about yourself," Aremis' embittered aunt tells him when he volunteers to help out handicapped kids. But Aremis is about to learn firsthand the importance of people helping each other. "They think I did it," he whispers after a gang attack leads to the death of his handicapped friend. With the police in pursuit, he slips down into New York City's subway system to hide. He quickly learns that the harsh world of the homeless is a dangerous and lonely place for a young boy and that he can't survive without the kindness of others. This beautifully touching movie teaches that we should all help each other.

Another description: Aremis Slake, abandoned by his mother, now lives reluctantly with his embittered aunt in New York City. His bleak existence is brightened by Joseph, a mentally handicapped boy who helps Aremis collect "junk" for free-form sculptures. A gang attack leads to Joseph’s death and drives Aremis into hiding deep within New York’s subway system. There, a Vietnam veteran and a coffee shop waitress help him survive in the harsh world of the homeless.
